Kuberitahu satu rahasia padamu, Kawan. Buah paling manis dari berani bermimpi adalah kejadian-kejadian menakjubkan dalam perjalanan menggapainya (Maryamah Karpov, Andrea Hirata, hal 433)

Oh, My Children...

I was browsing through the internet when I came out to find these nice quotes to be shared:

(Stacia Tauscher) We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today. We often busy ‘preparing’ their future and passed by the ‘now’. Just remember there will be no repetition for the year 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on. Enjoying each year of the growing time is the most fun-precious-once-in-the-life-time experience.

(Edgar W. Howe) If there were no schools to take the children away from home part of the time, the insane asylums would be filled with mothers. Children are the sun, the star, the reason to go on, the source of energy, for their parents but well, most of the time they are also the loud drum, the questions machine, and source of headache for their parents, so make sure to send your kids to school to manage your sanity.

(Angela Schwindt) While we try to teach our children all about life,Our children teach us what life is all about because (Walt Streightiff) there are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child, there are seven million. (Giacomo Leopardi, Zibaldone Scelto) Children find everything in nothing; men find nothing in everything.

Having the eyes of a kid is having the blessing to see things in different way, most of it is fun way!

Bringing Up Kids... The Quotes

Simply having children does not make mothers (John A. Shedd). Parenthood is not a simple role; you love your kids but most of the time there are conflict within when you are trying to teach or protect them. You mean good but your kids might not think so. As Bette Davis put it best “If you have never been hated by your child, you have never been a parent”. Parenthood is a lot easier to get into than out of (Bruce Lansky), so once we are in, we are in.

For they who are in this role, here are some nice quotes about bringing up your kids (although John Wilmot said “Before I got married I had 6 theories about bringing up kids; now I have 6 kids and no theories):

· In bringing up kids, spend on them half as much money and twice as much time (Author Unknown) because your kids need your presence more than your presents (Jesse Jackson).

· If you want children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders (Abigail Van Buren).
· In spite of the 6,000 manuals on child raising in the bookstores, child raising is still a dark continent and no one really knows anything. You just need a lot of love and luck - and, of course, courage (Bill Cosby, Fatherhood, 1986).
· In spite of the 7,000 books of expert advice, the right way to discipline a child is still a mystery to most fathers and mothers. Only your grandmother and Ghengis Khan know how to do it (Billy Cosby).

Barbara Kingsolver (Animal Dreams) said “It kills you to see them grow up. But I guess it would kill you quicker if they didn’t”. It is always a wonderful thing to witness their growth from time to time, despite of the ups and especially, the downs.

Last very advisable quote from Susan Savannah “If your kids are giving you a headache, follow the directions on the aspirin bottle, especially the part that says "keep away from children."

Dear Velisia...

I read your Daddy’s posts in facebook "Donate and Pray for Velisia Catherina Sutanto":

“It's 1 am now.. She is still deeply asleep without holding her stomach which she had done every night.... It is so peaceful... Thank you...”

“How can you not cry even more when you hear your sick daughter says: "Don't be sad, Daddy! Don't cry, Daddy!! Obviously she is stronger than I am... I wonder how anybody can survive seeing his/her little child in pain... I miss her laughter and smile....”

“Velisia did not cry nor scream during the blood taking today. This makes everyone in the room wonder. I guess she does not want to make us sad or cry. I guess she finally knows crying and screaming make everyone panic, sad.... She is right… To love is to make the ones we love happy not sad. How much we love is measured by how much we sacrifice, I guess.....”

I am a mother of a daughter, same age as you, Velisia (and in fact you two were classmates in Kindergarten year 2). I understand your parents’ pain and frustration. Sometimes we wonder why such young kids have to go through this all and Velisia, with no doubt, I know your parents are more than willing to replace you in taking all this pain.

Do you know what will make us stronger? Yes, that’s right. GETTING THROUGH THE PAIN SUCCESSFULLY. All of us believe you CAN do it. As your Daddy said that evil is trying to pull us apart from Jesus... Are we going to let the evil do that? Are we going to let the evil laugh happily seeing us far from our Lord? NO, NEVER! WHEN OUR LORD IS STANDING JUST BESIDE US, WHO CAN GO AGAINST US, VELISIA? NO ONE. Because we have BIG STRONG arms hugging us, protecting us, the arm of Jesus. We just need to be TOUGH, to PERSEVERE, we just need to HAVE FAITH IN HIM. The pain is nothing but the evil’s naughty hands trying to harm us. If you don’t let the evil touch you, your pain will turn less. If you don’t let the evil win over you, the evil will never win!! Let’s beat the evil, Velisia!! With such strong Jesus + great tough parents & family + more than 17,300 friends pray for you, wish the best for you, do you think the evil can stand on this? Nope!! Most of all, Velisia, you yourself ARE a strong tough wonderful girl; the evil can’t possibly hurt you more than you allow.

So, you need to nurture your faith, your strength, put your sweetest smile, laugh in joy & gratitude, knowing that Jesus & we all love you, pray for you, you will come back as a new-born girl: positive, great, wonderful!!! Beat the evil!!

Best wishes…
