Being A Single Mom... Intro

I am a kind of person who once decides, consequences are to be faced. When it's right, then it's fine. When it turns out wrong, then learn from it, be a better person next.

I am a single Mom of a daughter. She is 6 years old now. Don't be mistaken, I'm not guiding people to be a single parent but I just want to share... as a single parent.

It is not always easy to go through parenting world just by yourself. Human are meant to be a couple to grow up children but life is unique, God is creative. The way for every human never is the same.

Even it's not easy, I have to say I'm enjoying my single-mom status now, the time of seeing my daughter growing up... and the most exciting thing is growing up together with her. We naturally play changing role. I am her mentor but I have to say, most of the time, when I really look through... she is my mentor, mentor of a new life, mentor of perspective, mentor of attitude, and most of all mentor of growing... (not to mention, mentor of fun!!!)

Welcome, 2010 !!!

Pada hari Natal 2009 dan Tahun Baru 2010, aku mendapat banyak ucapan 'met natal & 'met tahun baru via sms. Tiga di antaranya punya arti mendalam:

Tuhan memberi PELANGI di setiap badai, SENYUM di setiap air mata, BERKAT di setiap cobaan, LAGU INDAH dalam kesepian, dan JAWABAN di setiap doa...

FAITH makes all things possible, HOPE makes all things work, LOVE makes all things beautiful.

SMILE, it makes you look NICE! PRAY, it makes you STRONGER! GIVE, it makes you RICHER! LOVE, it makes you KNOW LIFE!

Memikirkan not-so-nice things those I had done/thought last years, well, moga-moga dapat tereliminasikan di tahun yang baru ini. Resolusi akhir tahun? I want to keep growing to be a better person than last year. You can only grow when you realize what is lack in you. Seperti yang dikatakan seorang sahabat, "mereka yang tidak menyadari, bukan hanya terkunci namun juga kehilangan kunci."


Woke up on 8.30 am in the morning of the first day in 2010, I turned right and saw my precious still sleeping so soundly. I smiled, "Thanks, God, for letting me experiece such a wonderful role as a mother of such a wonderful kid!"

Being a mommy has been the greatest role I ever had. More than 6 years now being a mother, I learn a lot and all those lesson are about LIFE. Viewing things from the eyes of children is always a new experience and how the perspective of them can make this life far funner & happier. My kid has a character of natural forgiver. I learn from her and found out that forgiving always open a new road to us and most of the time it's a very nice relieving road. Closing 2009, I did forgive one of my past and hope to be able to prepare the future...

Anyway, dear 2010, welcome!!!

PS: My daughter is enjoying her long school holiday so she can sleep as long as she want. However, last night before sleep, she asked me to wake her up tomorrow before I go to work. "Why, honey?" "Coz I want to see Mommy when I wake up." My sweet bunny...
Having faith & hope, dare to love, smile, give... this is how we should welcome 2010!!! God bless!!!
